Should I consider the job market bad when I can’t even get a position selling Kirby vacuums? Yesterday I went on an interview to do so. I may have asked too many questions of the wrong sort. The call between 6:30 and 8 pm never came, to call me in for training today.
I once had a roommate that sold Kirby’s, so I had been around the presentation. Thirty years ago, but from what I read online, it has not changed much. The full time position required you to work an 80 hour week and make 15 presentations in order to get the $400 a week pay.
When I Googled Kirby I got the corporate site as well as a lot of complaint forums. I also got an article by Karon Thackston on Advertising Secrets I Learned from the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Man. What I should do is put these practices to work for my own source of internet income.
When I said that I would like to try selling Kirby’s I was secretly thinking that the training could be put to use in such a way. Me selling a $2000 to $3000 dollar vacuum? that people are pleased to get rid of on eBay for $700 to $800 without ever using what they have bought. I’d go through the motions just like I might if I was selling the newest “launch” of a program to make you money online. (But I can’t bring myself to promote those types of products).
I can endorse products like Jeremy Palmers Black Ink. If you want a successful program to sell affiliate products, this is it. Hurry he has said that he will be pulling it soon.
I never dreamed that it would be so hard to find a job. Every time I was unemployed in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s there was a job waiting or a few knocks on doors and I found one. It’s been four years that I’ve been looking steadily and the only one I found was at a deli counter. That would have lasted if I had figured out the problems with a prescription sooner.
The jist of what I am getting, looking for work, is that there is a freshly trained crowd out there that I’m competing with. They have the skills that employers want today and are willing to accept starting position pay. Not that I won’t work for minimum wage either!
In the mean time I plan on spending a lot more time putting into practice what I have learned over the past few years.
